All fjords in Norway are beautiful, large or small, narrow or wide, deep or shallow. And Isefjærfjorden is no exception. A beautiful, secluded haven not too far from the buzzing marina of Kristiansand.
You head out to the east from Kristiansand – the stunning port of entry to Norway -, take road E18 and after just a few kilometers you turn left and the road is winding for a few more in the beautiful forest with lovely summer houses, until you notice the main red building of the Isefjær holiday centre, at the mouth of the fjord.
It’s early spring now, yet Winter Queen still won’t let go of her white coat. Looks like this place is still sleeping, waiting for the spring sun to help wake up from the half year long winter dream. But temperatures are not biting anymore, the ice is gradually melting on the surface of the water so there is hope, that the beauty of the dark blue fjord will be soon revealed.
