An Inspiring Home On 48 Square Meters

When both members of a couple are creatives, like in this case – Stina and Mattias are both product designers -, the outcome of a home project will surely be something exciting and special.

The apartment is in beautiful Södermalm, one of the best areas of Stockholm. Given a limited space of 48 square meters, they had to be very inventive when it came to splitting up the space in liveable, yet stylish and spacious functional areas. They removed walls, added new ones and also a few windows on the wall between the kitchen and the bedroom, to enhance light in general. Warm terracotta walls are the perfect background for the urban chic that characterizes the interior. The kitchen cabinets are from Ikea, yet they have been covered with specially treated birch plywood and the countertops are made of Carrara marble. The beautiful brass pendant over the dining table and the one hanging in the bedroom add a little luxurious accent to this perfectly composed home.
Let’s take a look at it.
