A Laid-Back Hotel on the Island of Gotland

Gotland has been on my bucket list for years now. Ever since I heard of its very special climate, flora, fauna, the beautiful town Visby with its medieval walls, the romantic beaches and so much more, I have been craving for a visit to this magical island in the Baltic. And I already know where I’m going to stay. I chanced upon this lovely red hotel Magazin 1, actually a short 1-hour drive from Visby (Visby is quite easy to reach either by air directly from Stockholm or you take a one-hour bus ride from Stockholm Central to Nynäshamn where you hop on the ferry to Visby – the journey takes a little more than three hours, checked it out already! And if I were you, believe me, I’d go the longer way, indulging in the beauty of the Swedish coastline.).

Looking at the pictures of Hotel Magazin 1, I can already sense the peaceful atmosphere. Simple, minimalist interiors, the accent being most probably on relaxation, regeneration and a good night’s sleep. Old-time checkered tablecloth on the terrace, horseback ride, beach walks. The pictures make me stop for a moment, lean back and dream away …

Let’s take the tour.

Lovely pics taken by Kristofer Johnsson and sourced from Fantastic Frank.
