On this second day of Christmas I am sitting at my desk in my living room and, looking out of the window, I see a very moderate end of December with unusually generous temperatures and lots of greens everywhere, without a trace of snow. What on earth is happening to Winter Queen? Is she going to carry her white mantel around from January until the end of March again, like she did last year? Looks like we have to give up on a white Christmas after all.
Let’s dream away for a while and jump up to North Zealand and summertime, to this lovely summer house close to the beach and owned by Danish Femina’s stylist Mette Wotkjær. It’s a house I could perfectly settle in not just in the warm seasons, but all through the year. Looks like it is equipped with everything necessary to spend a cosy hygge Christmas there. I love the beach style colour scheme, the homey interiors, wicker baskets and the chair and all the pretty welcoming details. My biggest favourites are the beautiful old bench in the kitchen and the old chandelier above the dining table. It must be really good to come home to a place like this. Let’s go see it.
