K-House By Norm Architects

Hei,

After taking virtual tours in several richly decorated homes, let us

slow down

a bit, take things easy, lean back and enjoy the silence and the

purity of elements.

I am talking

minimalism.

If you leaf through the pages of my blog, you will find a considerable number of very moderate architectural solutions and interiors. A minimalist “project” inspires me in a totally different way. It gives room for a more thorough observation of the design and functional value of the space. I also take a closer look at textures, materials and tones.

The project I would like to show you today is about Scandinavian minimalism, in an exotic interpretation. It is the design work of Danish Norm Architects in cooperation with AIM Architects, completed towards the end of 2018. The property is a luxury resort in Sri Lanka. It is a perfect example of functional minimalism. Spaces are generous and relaxing, cool concrete and warm teak are used in perfect proportions to create an exclusive and elegant atmosphere.

Shall we step inside?
