Townhouses in Scandinavian cities have a special charm due to the lovely period features, mostly high-ceilinged rooms, old wood parquet floors, antique white listings on the walls, stuccos and so many more.
Ida, Jesper, their daughter Andrea (13) and dog Ziggy live in a fantastic home on one of the beautiful rooftops of Frederiksberg, Copenhagen. Ida is a nurse and Jesper works as an art director. The moment they saw this apartment, they knew it was meant to be theirs. 140 sqm indoor space, with a generous amount of rooftop terrace of 100 sqm! A real treat. To decorate a lovely home like this takes probably many years. The basic colour scheme is white which is the perfect backdrop for the beautiful pieces they have collected throughout the years. It is such a good idea to have a few basic pieces and then add flea market finds and vintage treasures, to personalize the space even more. And this is their secret.
The black lamp over the kitchen countertop is the perfect function light for the display of the exquisite marble board, wooden cutting boards and a modern, yet retro style mixer.
It is impossible to say which of the interior details is my favourite. There is something I love about every single corner of this home: the artwork above the couch, the inventive lighting solution in the living room, the old drawing cabinet in the office (beautiful piece indeed, sometimes I wish I was an architect or an art director, like Jesper), every single piece selected carefully, with the best taste. Très chic!
